About the Guide

Hi! I'm Juaquin "JJ" Salazar, from Waxahachie, Texas. I am a passionate explorer of the waters of Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. I love traveling to find fish I haven't caught. I have been as far south as Houston and as far north as Broken Bow. I have caught over 50 species of freshwater fish and have logged over 1000 catches in the past couple years alone.

I enjoy throwing out a line on both spinners and baitcasters. Targeting new species gets me excited, and microfishing is a favorite pastime. Most of all, I love researching and hybridizing fishing techniques. My motto is, "Always keep an open mind." One should never stop learning as a person or as an angler.

I am actively studying ichthyology and aim to have a Bachelor's degree in Marine Wildlife and Conservation one day. I graduated from Letourneau University in 2016 with a BS in Aviation Maintenance, but life changes course dramatically and throws in new opportunities every day. I am hard-working, communicative, and dedicated to getting my clients on fish that make them feel incredible.

If you have interest in networking or collaborating with me, feel free to reach out any time! My contact information is listed below as well as my social links. Thanks for visiting my site, and I look forward to fishing with you!

"Fishing is a sport second to none."
